While reinforcement work launched as part of earthquake-resilience efforts continues at the Muğla Public Library and Children’s Library, library services are being provided without interruption through a mobile library. Approximately 5,000 books are available to readers in the vehicle stationed in the library’s courtyard.
At libraries in the Menteşe district, an alternative service was implemented for readers following the start of reinforcement work, which came to the forefront with the evacuation process in August. Following the closure of the building, the Muğla Public Library continues to provide services through a mobile library stationed in the garden directly in front of the library.
While the vehicle contains approximately 5,000 books, staff members are also on hand to assist readers. The mobile library also features a small area where children can spend time. The goal is to help children engage with books and maintain their library habits.
Renovation work is ongoing in the library buildings that were vacated in August.
