The Balıkesir Storm at the Historic Elmalı Wrestling Tournament

Enes Doğan of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club was crowned champion of the Historic Elmalı Oil Wrestling Tournament, held at the Recep Gürbüz Wrestling Arena in Antalya’s Elmalı district, after defeating his opponent Feyzullah Aktürk in the final. Enes Doğan, who brought pride to Balıkesir by claiming the title of champion, impressed everyone with his outstanding performance. Fierce battles took place at the 673rd Historic Elmalı Oil Wrestling Tournament, where the champion of the CW Energy Turkey Oil Wrestling League was determined. Enes Doğan, who finished the previous season as the overall champion in the CW Energy Oil Wrestling League standings, ended 2025 in third place. Ahmet Akın, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, who has always supported and stood by the young wrestler, congratulated Doğan, saying, “I wholeheartedly congratulate our hero who brought the title of ‘Başpehlivan’ to our city of Balıkesir. We are very happy and proud.”

ENES DOĞAN ON THE PATH TO THE “ETERNAL” GOLDEN BELT

Enes Doğan, the star wrestler of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, who rose to the rank of “Başpehlivan” by winning first place in the “başaltı” weight class at the 662nd Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling Tournament in 2023; Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan Oil Wrestling Championships and the 2024–2025 Historical Elmalı Yeşilyayla Oil Wrestling Championships. Enes Doğan, one of the favorites in oil wrestling thanks to his successful performance, is taking firm steps toward becoming the permanent holder of the Golden Belt at the Elmalı Yeşilyayla Oil Wrestling Championships to be held in 2026.
